It is a quick turnaround for Newcastle United, who face Liverpool on Wednesday night after their disappointing draw at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Daniel Munoz’s stoppage time header denying the Magpies what would have been an undeserved three points.
Next up for Newcastle United is the Premier League leaders, with Liverpool on their way to St James’ Park.
Newcastle United train ahead of facing Liverpool
Eddie Howe’s side are now preparing for the game against Liverpool, but the quick turnaround has impacted the Newcastle United manager’s training plans.
The club have released photos from Monday’s training session to their official website, with those players who started on Saturday seemingly focussing on gym work. The likes of Joelinton, Fabian Schar and Bruno Guimaraes are seen inside, rather than outside battling the elements.
On the grass, those who did not start against Crystal Palace have been put through their paces by Eddie Howe. The club’s photos show the likes of Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron taking part in training, while there is also an appearance from 17-year-old Sean Neave.

MORE NEWCASTLE STORIES
It is great to see Neave get the chance to train alongside the first-team, as he continues to enjoy an impressive season at youth level. He has played for the Under-18s and the Under-21s, scoring eight goals.
He is certainly one to watch, and the hope will be that Neave eventually goes on to become a fully-fledged first-team player on Tyneside.
But while he has trained with the senior stars ahead of the Liverpool game, he will not be involved on Wednesday night. Newcastle have enough options up front, with Alexander Isak avoiding a serious injury against Crystal Palace and Callum Wilson and Will Osula in reserve.
Jamaal Lascelles spotted in the Newcastle United gym
It was also good to see Jamaal Lascelles smiling in one of the pictures the club uploaded to their official website.
The club captain has not played for Newcastle United since March, having suffered an ACL injury. He is continuing his rehab in the gym, as he works towards a comeback in 2025.
Lascelles is a target for Wolves in January, as they seek centre-back reinforcements given their own injury woes. With Newcastle also short of options in that position, it would be a surprise if Eddie Howe and Paul Mitchell sanctioned a move.
But Lascelles’ future is up in the air, with the 31-year-old in the final year of his Toon contract.
