Aston Villa are open to letting a Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers target leave on loan this January.
Sil Swinkels could leave Aston Villa on loan this winter with a host of Championship and League One clubs interested in the central defender’s services.
The Villans rejected several approaches for Swinkels in the summer as Unai Emery felt he was light in defence, but the situation has changed with Tyrone Mings now fit and available for selection again.
The Athletic reports Swinkels is well thought of at Villa Park and is certainly part of future plans but the proposal for January is a temporary move away. It’s claimed Wycombe Wanderers are interested in Swinkels, while Peterborough United were keen in the summer and could perhaps return with a renewed approach.
Swinkels, still just 20 years of age, has made two senior appearances for Villa to date - his first in the FA Cup against Liverpool in 2021 and the most recent away at Wycombe in the Carabao Cup earlier this campaign.

Predominantly a centre-half but also capable of playing at left-back, the four-time former Netherlands Under-18 international could provide useful versatility for any potential suitor.
Clubs interested will perhaps have reservations over Swinkels’ limited experience but he’s been in and around one of the best squads in the Premier League, so that’s got to count for something. He’s also had the benefit of working under Emery, who has great belief his Dutch defender will develop into a top player.
