After murmurings of a drop in form, it did not take long for Chelsea’s star man to put an end to any of that talk.
Cole Palmer was back to his best for the Blues during their 3-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, ending his three-match goalscoring drought in the process.
Palmer predicted to Morgan Rogers that he would be named Man of the Match when their two sides met at the weekend, and he did just that with a goal and an assist for Enzo Fernandez.

Cole Palmer has more goals from outside the box than 13 Premier League clubs this season
The performance saw Palmer named in the statistical Premier League Team of the Week, alongside teammates Levi Colwill and Robert Sanchez.
His goal showed just how good a footballer he has already become. Picking the ball up on the edge of the box, he shifted onto his strong foot before firing an unstoppable strike into the top corner from distance.
The goal was his third from outside the penalty area already this season, and according to WhoScored this is a figure more than 13 of the Premier League sides have managed between all their players.
It was the perfect response from Palmer, who is going to be judged to the highest standards after establishing himself as arguably the best player in the Premier League right now.
Chelsea’s best goals of the 24/25 season
Palmer has already picked up an official Goal of the Month award in the Premier League this season after his lob against Wolves in the 6-2 win back in August.
Chelsea were also the recipients of the award for October, with the England international again playing a key role in Nicolas Jackson’s breakaway opener against Newcastle.
There was an argument for them to have won the award three times out of three, with Palmer’s sensational free-kick scored against Brighton missing out on the award for September.
