'Rocking' King Power Stadium 'won't help' Leicester City vs West Ham

Ruud van Nistelrooy is hoping to breathe belief back into the Leicester City fanbase, starting with tonight’s home match against West Ham United.

City’s new manager held court at his first press conference on Monday, going into great detail about what he expects from his Foxes team, how he expects them to play and even how he wants them to line-up.

Those plans will be put to their first test at the King Power, against a Hammers team that was quite literally hammered by Arsenal last time out – while City were themselves summarily dismissed at Brentford.

All of which has left City just one point and two places above the drop zone – with pundit Chris Sutton predicting another defeat this evening. Writing in his BBC prediction column Sutton tipped a West Ham win.

“Both teams were beaten heavily at the weekend and this feels like a massive game for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, who is back under scrutiny again after such a big defeat at home to Arsenal,” he said.

“What might help him here is how bad Leicester are defensively. This is Ruud van Nistelrooy's first game in charge of the Foxes so you would expect the King Power Stadium to be rocking, but that won't help them keep the Hammers out.

“I am not convinced by West Ham in any way, shape or form at the moment but they have attacking players who can hurt Leicester, and that will get them the win Lopetegui needs. Sutton's prediction: 1-2.”
