The last few weeks have seen FC Barcelona throw away the healthy lead they had generated over their rivals in La Liga in the initial phase of this season.
The Catalans have been unable to win any of their last three league games, having suffered defeats against Real Sociedad and Las Palmas, and a draw that was as bitter as a defeat against Celta Vigo.
In such circumstances, the upcoming game against Mallorca becomes highly important for Barcelona, as another slipup in this game can see both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid get ahead of them in the league table.
Seemingly, Hansi Flick is also aware of the importance of this game, and is keen to get back to winning ways. For this purpose, SPORT reports that the German tactician remained engaged with one of his veterans, Robert Lewandowski, for around five minutes ahead of Monday’s training session.
Both Flick and Lewandowski were engaged in an animated conversation, as the two tried to find the solutions to the team’s problems.
Lewandowski was far from his best in the game against Las Palmas, but he still remains one of the most trusted players for Flick, especially as the two have already worked together previously when the German coach was in charge of Bayern Munich.
Hopefully, this consultation with Lewandowski will allow Flick to detect and eliminate the main problems being faced by his team. Furthermore, Flick will also be helped in the game against Mallorca by the return of some of his key players.
Lamine Yamal will be in better shape after he made his return in the last game, while Dani Olmo is also expected to start once again after not having played a single minute against Las Palmas. Similarly, Balde, who had to leave that game early after a serious challenge, is also ready to start against Mallorca tonight.
