Tony Cottee fears Everton are in trouble amid a “horrendous” run of fixtures on the horizon.
The Toffees started a gruelling December with a 4-0 thumping at Manchester United on Sunday (1 December).
They next face Wolves on Wednesday (4 December) but also have to play Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest before the 2024 comes to a close.
Ex-Everton striker Cottee said live on talkSPORT (3 December, 8:09am): “Firstly Everton, got stuffed at Man Utd, you read some of the West Ham fixtures, you look at the Everton fixtures Jeff they’re horrendous leading up to the New Year, so they’re in trouble.”
Everton need to pull some rabbits out of the hat
Ultimately, it is not results like Sundays that will define the Toffees’ season.

That’s not an excuse for the absolute abject performance that was put in at Old Trafford because even accounting for the fact there was a feel-good factor under their new boss Ruben Amorim it was completely inexcusable to get thumped like that.
What has hurt Everton more are results like surrendering a two-goal lead to lose at home to Bournemouth or a failure to take advantage of 10-man Brentford in a goalless draw.

The grim reality is, the Toffees have only 11 points from 13 games and are only two clear of the relegation zone. With an awful looking run of fixtures to come, there is a very realistic possibility of starting 2025 in the relegation zone.
It means Sean Dyche has a hell of a job on his hands if he wants to keep his job. He and his players need to pull a few rabbits out of the proverbial hat.
