Arsenal are well adrift in the Premier League title race with the summer transfer market looking like a real missed opportunity.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been able to find some consistency in recent weeks with two big wins in their last two outings.
Although Arsenal may be sat in second spot of the Premier League table, but there is still a nine-point gap to Liverpool.
Only four new signings were made over the summer with two of them coming through the way of loan additions on the final day of the window.
Clearly, more could have been done by the Gunners with Arsenal already eyeing up Jamie Gittens ahead of the summer.
And it seems it is not just in attack where Arteta is looking to make some improvements over the coming months with Arsenal plotting a potential swap deal.

Arsenal looking to swap Kieran Tierney for Martin Zubimendi
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are considering a potential swap deal for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
The Gunners feel as if they could have an ace up their sleeve with former Sociedad loanee Kieran Tierney a potential option to be used in a deal for the midfielder.
During the summer, the ‘world class’ Zubimendi rejected Liverpool’s interest with a real opportunity to join the Premier League on the table.
Arsenal are looking to appoint Roberto Olabe as their new sporting director following the recent announcement on Edu Gaspar’s future.
And another positive in Arsenal’s pursuit of Zubimendi is Olabe’s relationship with those at Sociedad having been their sporting director.
Kieran Tierney’s message to Real Sociedad fans
It has been another difficult start to the campaign for the Scotland international with no appearances to his name.
Tierney has now returned from a hamstring injury but his time at Arsenal could soon be heading for a conclusion.
Since returning from Sociedad over the summer, Tierney has posted just once on Instagram – which was a Scotland post – having shared a farewell message in May.
“Thank you to everyone at @realsociedad What an amazing and special club. Honored to have been a part of it.
“Despite the injury setbacks, I gave everything every time I stepped on the park and you supported me all the way. It was incredible to be part of the team that made history and qualified for Europe 5 times in a row. Eskerrik asko💙🤍 we will meet again.”
