CM: Milan rebuff Valencia’s Jimenez enquiry – the reason as Real Madrid watch on

Valencia are struggling in LaLiga and want January reinforcements, with AC Milan’s Alex Jimenez reportedly in their sights.

As Calciomercato.com write, Jimenez is the player who is making the best impression with a Milan Futuro team that are second-bottom in the table and getting cut adrift from the survival places.

Even in the 45 minutes he played against Ternana (reduced minutes because tomorrow he will be with the first team squad for the Coppa Italia match against Sassuolo), he confirmed that he is too good for the level.

Head coach Daniele Bonera – who is not at risk despite the bad results – has often changed players and formation in this first part of the season, but this has not applied to Jiménez.

The 19-year-old has played 1000 minutes in the league across 12 appearances with two goals while in the Coppa Italia he has put together three appearances with two goals.

In recent days, however, Valencia have made a concrete inquiry regarding Jiménez and the possibility of offering Milan a loan with option to buy. It was quickly rejected, because the management are backing him to fully join the first team after January.

There is also the added issue that Real Madrid have ultimate control over the full-back, because they have a buy-back clause as part of the deal with the Rossoneri and thus Los Blancos could bring him back to Spain next summer.
