La Liga giant FC Barcelona looks set to be busy in the upcoming January transfer window
The first port of call will be sorting out a registration headache involving Dani Olmo, Pau Victor and Andreas Christensen.
Olmo and Pau Victor were Barca's only summer signings joining the Catalans from RB Leipzig and Girona respectively, and the club's well-documented Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues meant that there was trouble getting them cleared to play in 2024/2025 under Hansi Flick.
In the end, it took exploiting a loophole facilitated by a long-term injury to Christensen for Olmo and Pau Victor to officially join the squad, but that was only a temporary solution to a problem that will once again re-emerge in January.

Though the newspaper, citing anonymous sources, reports that there won't be any signings, Barca will still use the winter market to announce landmark contract renovations of Gavi and Pedri until mid-2029.
The Spain internationals are seen as key to the club's long-term future, and securing them for pretty much the rest of the decade would be a major coup from Sporting Director Deco and President Joan Laporta.
There are unlikely to be development on similar extensions for Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong, which Barca reportedly under the impression that the latter could be intentionally trying to run down his terms in order to leave for nothing in 2026 and command a considerable signing-on fee with his next employer.
At the same time acquisitions aren't expected, nor are departures.
Deco doesn't want to move things around and be disruptive mid-season, with the amount of injuries and fixtures that could pile up meaning that even those squad members which aren't picking up many minutes at the moment could later prove important.
At the same time, however, Ansu Fati could be shipped out on loan to get much-needed playing time and is being linked with his former boyhood outfit Sevilla.
