Chelsea have been moving in the right direction since Enzo Maresca arrived at the club in the summer, with several players massively thriving under his management.
The Chelsea squad is definitely beginning to click into gear this season under Enzo Maresca. In fact, they currently sit third in the Premier League table and are only behind second-placed Arsenal on goal difference.
Alan Pardew says Chelsea boss Maresca looks comfortable as he’s leading his side to big improvements from last year.

Ally McCoist hails Nicolas Jackson improvement
Ally McCoist admits he was guilty of criticising Chelsea frontman Nicolas Jackson last season, but he’s seen him get so much better recently, especially with his finishing. In fact, the centre-forward scored his eighth Premier League goal of the campaign in Sunday’s 3-0 victory at home to Aston Villa.
When discussing Chelsea’s Jackson after his performance against Villa, McCoist told talkSPORT (6:53am, 2 December): “Excellent finish. He’s still not the finished article. I was critical of him and [Rasmus] Hojlund last season because I thought they were very erratic, both young and erratic in their finishing.
“He’s definitely composing himself a lot better. His level of finishing and his quality and standard of finishing is vastly improving all the time.”
Similarly, Gary Lineker said Chelsea’s Jackson is improving his finishing. At this rate, he should definitely have his eyes on smashing the 20-goal barrier during his second campaign with the club.

Nicolas Jackson’s Chelsea career so far
Chelsea may have found their long-term No.9
Jackson’s already had some ups and downs since he joined the Blues from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, but he’s developed so much from those experiences.

It feels like Chelsea may have discovered their long-term striker to lead the line. Let’s wait and see if he can continue his fantastic form over the course of the entire season, though.
Maresca says Jackson is good enough to start for Chelsea, which is a statement that’s hard to argue against, unlike spells of last year. Unfortunately, it means that Christopher Nkunku is struggling for a look-in during the Premier League schedule.
