Ashley Young is set to face his son Tyler in the FA Cup
Former Manchester United star Ashley Young has reacted excitedly to the FA Cup third-round draw after Everton were drawn against Peterborough United. The veteran full-back could potentially face his son Tyler in the game, slated to take place at Everton's Goodison Park.
Midfielder Tyler Young features primarily for the Peterborough U-21 team but has made a senior appearance for the club this season, featuring in a 2-0 win over Stevenage in the EFL Trophy in October. The 18-year-old was previously on the books of Arsenal, QPR, and MK Dons before finding a home in Peterborough earlier this year.
Young Sr was on the books of Watford when his son was born, and then went on to play for Aston Villa and Manchester United before leaving for Inter Milan in 2020. A flying winger in his younger days, the 39-year-old now features as a full-back in Sean Dyche's struggling Everton side this season.

Ashley Young has made 13 appearances for the Toffees this season, providing three assists from his full-back position. Everton are aware that the FA Cup provides a chance for them to get their season on track amid league struggles, which have left them in 15th place in the standings.
Young won the FA Cup during his stint with Manchester United under Louis Van Gaal in the 2015-16 season. The former England international will hope both he and his son feature when the third-round tie comes around between January 9 and 13.
Manchester United legend facing make-or-break period in managerial career - Reports
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is facing a tough spell as Plymouth Argyle manager amid a run of terrible form. Argyle conceded 10 goals in two games last week to leave them in 21st place in the Championship, winning only four out of 18 games.
The 39-year-old took over the club in the summer but has seen his side suffer the effects of an injury crisis. The club's hierarchy remains sympathetic to this reason, but The Telegraph reports that Rooney's next two games against Oxford United and Swansea City will be key to his future.
Manchester United's all-time record goalscorer, Rooney is in his fourth job as a manager. He has previously been in charge of Derby County, DC United, and Birmingham City.
