Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson has been one of the best forwards in the Premier League this season.

Nicolas Jackson has played in all 13 of Chelsea‘s games so far, managing to score eight goals along the way.

His latest came in the Blues’ 3-0 win against Aston Villa over the weekend. After the match, Gary Neville shared that he was happy about Jackson’s form.

The striker has not scored as many goals as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, the two best forward players in the division. But statistically, his finishing has actually been better than theirs in the current campaign.

Nicolas Jackson’s conversion rate

Haaland is currently the Premier League’s top scorer with 12 goals, while Salah is just behind him on 11.

Jackson is trailing in that department, then, yet he has a superior conversion rate compared to the two.

According to WhoScored, Jackson has the best shot conversion rate (25.8%) in the Premier League out of players who have taken 25 shots or more.

It shows the extent of Jackson’s improvement, with the 23-year-old having missed a lot of big chances last season. His conversion rate back then was only 17.5%.

After watching him this term, former England striker Gary Lineker feels that Jackson is more confident.

Nicolas Jackson proves pundit wrong

Because he was not the most clinical centre-forward last season, Jackson had a lot of doubters heading into this campaign.

The above includes former USA international and ESPN pundit Janusz Michallik. However, Michallik has admitted that Jackson has made him shut up.

“I mean, he’s proven that he’s got everything,” Michallik said after Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Villa on Sunday.

To shut up his doubters for good, Jackson now needs to maintain the form that he is in and continue scoring goals for Enzo Maresca‘s side.
