An Arsenal starlet who is currently on the lookout for a new club, has been handed a fresh chance by Leicester City.
Leicester City are a side who pride themselves on their ability to build from the bottom-up. Over the years, they have seen many young players come through the ranks, which is a testament to the patient and nurturing nature of the club.
Not only do Leicester have a great academy themselves but they have a keen eye to sign young players from other clubs, giving them a fresh start and a chance to prove themselves to a new audience.
This could certainly be the case once more, as an Arsenal academy star has been handed a chance to prove himself to Leicester.
According to an update from Jeorge Bird, who is the expert of all things involving Arsenal's youth academy, Arsenal midfielder Bless Akolbire has been handed a chance to prove himself to Leicester City, playing in the U18 side against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Bird claims that it is unlikely Akolbire will be offered a new contract by Arsenal. Therefore, the 17-year-old is on the lookout for a new club and a fresh chance to prove himself.
Akolbire is likely to leave Arsenal in the summer, with Leicester City one of the clubs eyeing his development. If the Foxes are impressed by the midfielder's trial performances, they could offer him a professional contract, one which is likely to be missing from Arsenal's perspective.
Of course, it takes a lot to prove yourself at Arsenal. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and only a select few make it through their youth academy. That said, they have seen some stars come through Hale End, including Bukayo Saka, Serge Gnabry, Emile Smith Rowe and most recently, Ethan Nwaneri.
If Leicester can get a taste of whatever Arsenal are feeding their academy stars, this would surely only benefit the Foxes.
