Kai Havertz is one of the most polarising footballers in the Premier League.
The Arsenal striker is very much a marmite player, one week he’s being hailed as a fantastic player, the next, he’s struggling.
Havertz has been called a genius this season, while others have said Havertz is clueless.
There may not be a player in the Premier League who is more difficult to judge than Havertz.
However, Havertz’s teammates always seem to rate him highly.
Bukayo Saka recently praised Havertz and his ability, and speaking on his podcast, Rio Ferdinand has now shared snippets of a conversation he had with Declan Rice about the striker.
Indeed, Ferdinand says he was shocked by Rice’s view of Havertz, claiming that the England star was so full of praise for the striker that he started to think Arsenal don’t need a new striker.

Rio Ferdinand shocked by what Declan Rice said about Kai Havertz
Ferdinand discussed the conversation he had with Rice about Havertz.
The pundit was speaking with Jorginho about the German, and Jorginho said that Havertz is an unbelievable player.
“I spoke to Declan about Kai Havertz. He surprised me, I’ll be honest. And the way he spoke about Kai, I was like, well, these guys don’t need a number nine,” Ferdinand said.
“Yeah, it’s crazy because he’s just an unbelievable player. At the beginning when people was hammering him, I was like, these people, what are they talking about?” Jorginho said.
Kai Havertz compared to Arsenal striker targets
There’s been a lot of chat about Arsenal needing a new striker recently.
Indeed, Arsenal have apparently been looking for a new centre-forward, but there may not be that desperate need for a new number nine.
Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Alexander Isak, while Benjamin Sesko was an Arsenal target in the summer.
However, when you look at the stats, Havertz is outperforming those players.

Yes, Havertz may not be as clinical as some of his peers, but Arsenal are still the joint-second highest scorers in the Premier League with the German leading the line.
Goals aren’t the big problem at Arsenal, and the Gunners have more than enough firepower in their team without signing a new striker.
More depth up front would be useful, but Havertz is a very good option to lead the line and he should have enough about him to help Arsenal challenge for the title again.
