Atletico Madrid are the latest European giant to show an interest in RC Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov (20), according to a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
The Uzbekistan international is going from strength to strength at Lens following his €100,000 move from Belarus back in 2023. He was touted to replace Kevin Danso in the back line this season before the Austrian’s move to AS Roma broke down due to a failed medical, however, even despite him remaining at the Stade Bollaert, Khusanov continues to feature prominently, making 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Last week, Foot Mercato reported that Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luís Campos met with Khusanov’s entourage with the view to a potential swoop in January. Whilst Lens are highly reluctant to sell the centre-back, their financial situation may take the decision out of their hands with Foot Mercato reporting that PSG may test their resolve with a €20m swoop.
However, they aren’t the only interested party with Atletico Madrid also a big admirer of the young up-and-coming centre-back.
