Manchester City fans are hoping to see the club spring into action in January and the 2025 summer window.
The club are in the midst of a mini-crisis at the moment, and are seven games without a win after losing their latest game against Liverpool.
Performances have been really poor, and many players who are usually so dependable are struggling.
There is now a feeling within the fanbase that this squad needs a refresh. Manchester City have a number of players in and around the age of 30, with some approaching their mid-thirties.
Certainly, it feels as though getting new faces in is now necessary and City have, in recent times, been linked with Bayern Munich duo Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich.
But Bayern director Steffen Freund has now said something ominous which will disappoint fans.

Kimmich said recently that he’ll decide his future in January, amid talk that City could potentially move for him.
The German, as things currently stand, is out of contract next summer and there would surely be a plethora of clubs ready to snap him up on a free transfer.
Jamal Musiala has been one of the game’s top attacking midfielders for a couple of years now, and many City fans would love to see him in a sky-blue shirt.
But seemingly, the club are up against it to snag the duo.

Fabrizio Romano has quoted Bayern’s director Steffen Freund as saying: “We’re in good talks with both Musiala and Kimmich, we’re positive to extend their contracts.
“Of course, our wish would be to complete the deals as soon as possible.”
Kimmich and Musiala would be game-changers for Man City
It is starting to sound like both of these players will end up extending their contracts at Bayern, which would be a shame for City.
Kimmich will turn 30 in February, but he is a world-class player, who’s so versatile and consistent – not to mention he’s worked with Pep Guardiola before.
Joshua Kimmich for Bayern (2015-present) Jamal Musiala for Bayern (2020-present)
Appearances – 409 Appearances – 180
Goals – 42 Goals – 53
Assists – 108 Assists – 35
Trophies won – 20 Trophies won – 10
And Musiala is a sensational talent who’s been impressing for a while now. During Euro 2024, City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan said that Musiala was ‘a joy to play with’, and tipped him to become one of the world’s best players.
It would be amazing to see both of these players pitching up at the Etihad Stadium. But it just doesn’t feel that likely.
That said, you never know in football and Guardiola surely has to start overseeing a rebuild of the squad from January.
