Kortney Hause’s Aston Villa nightmare looks set to be coming to an end with a transfer away on the cards.
Hause hasn’t played a competitive match for more than two years due to a serious knee injury and several setbacks but the defender is hopeful of a return to action in the new year.
The 29-year-old has been in and around Bodymoor Heath over the last few weeks as he bids to build fitness. Although Hause is not in Unai Emery’s plans for the rest of the season, the club has been supporting the player through what has been a mightily tough couple of years.
Hause last appeared in a matchday squad on October 29, 2022 - against Wigan Athletic in the Championship during his loan spell at Watford. The defender, who saw his Vicarage Road stay cut short by his knee injury, last made a competitive appearance in September 2022.

It’s a great shame it never worked out for Hause at Villa Park as the former England under-21 international arrived with great promise from local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 2019/20 season was a success as Hause made 18 Premier League appearances for the Villans but he’s hardly played since.
