PSG break silence on Mo Salah transfer rumours as Liverpool star's future takes fresh twist

Salah's contract with Liverpool is set to expire in the summer.

Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has broken the club's silence on the links with Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.

In recent weeks, Salah has been outspoken about his ongoing contract negotiations with Liverpool, ahead of his current deal expiring in the summer.

With discussions over an extension stalling, the winger has reportedly attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Paris Saint-Germain

But now, the French champions have finally spoken out to address the rumours regarding a move for Salah.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the Egyptian forward, but confirmed that the rumours linking him to the Ligue 1 club were false.

He said: “It’s not true. He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered him, to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true.”

Just yesterday, French outlets began reporting that Salah had started talks with PSG over a free transfer in the summer when his contract ended.

The reports claimed that the 32-year-old was open to the move and that there was a "good chance" that he would be playing at the Parc des Princes next season.

However, it now appears that this will most likely not be the case, leaving the question over Salah's future unanswered.
