Underperforming Juventus Star Eager to Right the Ship

Teun Koopmeiners has had an underwhelming start to his Juventus career following a pricey move and is well aware he’s expected to fare better. He dished to Sky during the Gran Galà del Calcio.

“I surely want to do more in terms of goals and assists, like I did at Atalanta. I do my best to help the team every day. It’s important to grow as a group. We aim to get better, but we have done some good things already. We must repeat and increase them. It’s important to learn from these first few months.”

Koopmeiners took stock of the Juventus season so far.

“We have picked up too many draws, but football operates on a fine line. We conceded in the final minutes against Lecce and Stuttgart. I think that we have to grow but are on the right path. We must improve to claim the three points consistently considering who we are, but we’re confident.”

Koopmeiners stated that he clicked with Thiago Motta right away.

“It’s been a pleasure since day one, also with the coach. I was welcomed warmly, and it’s nice to work here every day. As for my role, I’m happy, as I’m playing a lot, but I want to do more.”

Koopmeiners was quizzed about the Bianconeri’s outlook in the Scudetto race.

“Juventus want to win every trophy and every game, but it’s important to take it match after match. We changed a lot during the summer, and we’re having a hard time because of the injuries. Still, we must perform better with those who are available. It’s paramount to learn and grow as a team.”
