'They all want to play': Mikel Arteta provides Arsenal injury update for Man Utd game

Preview: Inter Milan vs Arsenal - stats, team news, line-ups

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have won their three games after the international break and they are presently second in the standings with a nine-point deficit to Liverpool.

The London giants need to keep on winning to stay in the title race and ahead of tomorrow’s game against United, Arteta did not reveal who could return.

The Spaniard said that everyone wants to play. There will be a meeting this afternoon to decide who will be involved against the Red Devils in Wednesday’s much-awaited encounter.

He told reporters: “We’re gonna have a meeting this afternoon. We have done a training session. We monitored and kept some players away from certain activities. They all want to play.”

Gabriel Magalhaes was substituted at the half-time interval against West Ham United, but it was only precautionary as he has been carrying a minor knee issue.

Mikel Merino and Thomas Partey were surprise absentees with knee and muscle injuries respectively and it remains to be seen whether they are involved tomorrow.

Ben White is one of those confirmed to miss out after his knee surgery. Takehiro Tomiyasu has not been training lately with a knee concern and is unlikely to make the squad.

Arsenal did the double over the Red Devils last season. They beat them 3-1 at the Emirates after stoppage time goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners picked up a hard-fought 1-0 triumph in the reverse fixture. The Gunners will be aiming for another victory to keep themselves in the title hunt.

Their title prospects are pretty slim at the moment. They need to build a long winning streak to pile the pressure on Liverpool over the hectic festive period.
