The January transfer window is approaching in less than one month, and FC Barcelona are going to be quite busy in this period.
The number one priority of the Blaugranes in this window will be to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor once again with La Liga, as these two players were only registered till January in the last summer transfer window.
Furthermore, the Catalans are also looking to complete the renewals of Pedri and Gavi in January. Other than that, no new arrivals are expected at the club.
However, there can be departures and one player who has a chance of leaving the Blaugrana club in January is the forward Ansu Fati. After returning to Barcelona last summer, the €15m-rated winger is once again recovering from a muscle injury in his right leg.
He can return to action by next week, but this season he has again been unable to get a lot of minutes on the pitch. In such a situation, SPORT reports that once he completes his recovery, he will have to address the issue of whether he wants to remain at Barcelona in search of minutes that are unlikely to come by or leave on loan for another club where he will get regular playing time.
Sevilla have been one of the sides that have maintained an interest in the Spaniard for quite some time now, and the Andalusians will be willing to get him on a loan in January if the operation remains within their financial limits.
Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was in Barcelona some weeks ago, and the club had let him know that the player will not get a lot of minutes here, and although they will not force him to leave, their doors will be open if Fati decides to leave in search of more prominence.
At that time, Mendes looked for interested clubs, but the winger’s injury derailed his work. But with Garcia Pimienta in charge, Sevilla are still interested in the player, but all the involved parties, Fati, Barcelona, and Sevilla will have to make a sacrifice to arrive at an agreement.
Barcelona will have to continue paying a part of Ansu’s wages, the player himself will have to accept a pay cut, and Sevilla will have to make a clear bet on the winger. Furthermore, Barcelona and Sevilla will also have to get over their recent rocky relationship to complete a loan transfer in January.
