Bayern Munich head coach, Vincent Kompany, not planning on doing “anything differently” amidst…

Who knew getting demolished 4-1 by Barcelona was what Bayern Munich needed to galvanise their squad and launch an impressive run of form across the Bundesliga and Champions League?

In an interview with ransport’s Martin Volkmar, Bayern head coach, Vincent Kompany, explained that it wasn’t the result that made the difference, it was his side’s response (via @iMisSanMia).

“Everything always has to get better. You’re talking about 17-0 now, but it started at some point with four goals conceded in Barcelona and we stayed calm in that moment and just worked. And that’s what we’re going to do now. We won’t do anything differently now than we did after the Barcelona game, where we always knew: we have talent, we have good players, but we have to work,” Kompany said.

Credit has to be given to Vincent Kompany, his coaching staff and the players. A 4-1 loss often feels like the end of the world for Bayern Munich. Considering the big loss and ongoing question marks over the team’s defence, Kompany was sure to be feeling the pressure, however, the Belgian coach and his players did extremely well to remain calm, trust their style of football and steady the ship. The results speak for themselves.

Bayern fans will be hoping their side can maintain their strong run of form and avoid any large defeats in the future, although, who knows, it may just be what they need to kick back into gear.
