How many assists Thierry Henry & Kevin De Bruyne had after 13 PL games as Bukayo Saka aims to break record

Bukayo Saka is on track to break the record for most assists in a single 38-game Premier League campaign.

The Arsenal No.7 currently has five goals and ten assists in just 12 Premier League appearances so far this season – a remarkable return which has helped the Gunners sit second.

With 25 Premier League games still to play, the England international could quite feasibly leave Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry in his dust – the pair both hold the record having provided 20 assists in the 2019/20 and 2002/03 campaigns respectively.

So, how does Bukayo Saka compare to the aforementioned duo after 13 Premier League games of the current season? Let’s take a look.

How 2024/25 Bukayo Saka compares to 2002/03 Thierry Henry after 13 matches

Let’s start with Henry – who praised Saka back in October after he captained Arsenal against PSG.

After 13 games of the 2002/03 campaign, the Frenchman only had five assists to his name – playing in all but one of these matches.

Coincidentally, Saka has also appeared in 12 of Arsenal’s 13 Premier League games at this stage of the season – so the Hale End graduate is well on course to outdo Henry.

Remarkably, the man born in Les Ulis ended up with 24 goals and 20 assists in that 2002/03 season across 37 Premier League appearances, which is a quite ridiculous return.

Onto De Bruyne.

After 13 games of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, the Belgium international impressively had nine assists to his name, again featuring in 12 of these 13 outings like Saka and Henry did, coincidentally.

De Bruyne ended that season with 13 goals and 20 assists in 35 Premier League appearances.

Therefore, Saka – who Jorginho thinks could win the Ballon d’Or one day – is not only on track to match De Bruyne and Henry, but he could well leave their tally of 20 assists out of sight at this rate.
