Ally McCoist can’t believe how good Moises Caicedo has been this season and claimed the midfielder looks like a different human being.
Caicedo has been in superb form this season and put in another brilliant display in Sunday’s win against Aston Villa, a game he played at right back, which could be a solution for the Blues moving forward.
The 23-year-old is arguably the best midfielder in the league right now and his performances are going from strength to strength.
McCoist can’t believe how good Caicedo has been
It’s fair to say Caicedo initially struggled following his £115m British record transfer from Brighton in 2023, but he started to find his feet towards the end of last season.
However, this season the Ecuadorian looks like a player transformed under Maresca and looks the like player he was at Brighton and some.
Caicedo has started every Premier League game and has even shown his quality in the final third with a couple of assists for Nicolas Jackson and a brilliant goal against Manchester United.

The Ecuador international is vital to Chelsea and is arguably the player they can least afford to be without given there’s not really a direct replacement in the squad.
Caicedo has impressed many this season and McCoist has admitted he can’t believe how good the former Brighton man has been.
“Moises Caicedo has looked an absolute different player this season, he looks a different human being!,” he told talkSPORT as cited on X.com.
“It’s not just him as well, so does Romeo Lavia who has come in alongside Caicedo, he’s been different class.”

Chelsea’s midfield looks like it’s now got a great balance for the first time in a number of years and it seems to be functioning really well with the likes of Caicedo, Lavia and Enzo Fernandez.
Caicedo will likely start again on Wednesday evening against Southampton and it will be interesting when or if Maresca does rotate him over the Christmas period.
