Michael Brown thinks Everton are in “safe hands” to avoid relegation from the Premier League due to the strength of their squad.

The Toffees are currently sat 15th in the Premier League table, and while they may not find themselves in the bottom three, they only have a two-point cushion between themselves and 18th place.

Speaking on the Football Daily Podcast (1 December), pundit Brown admits Sean Dyche’s style “isn’t pretty” but is confident the Toffees can still avoid the drop into the Championship.

“These Everton supporters have been right through it,” he said.

“The squad can get results and Sean Dyche has a way of doing that with his teams, but it isn’t pretty.

“They are in safe hands with that squad to not be relegated, especially given the competition that is around them.”

Sean Dyche needs to find a way to get Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring

While there are likely many reasons why Everton are as far down in the table as they are this season, the fact that they’re the joint-lowest scoring team in the Premier League is arguably the biggest reason.

The Toffees have four senior strikers within their ranks, and while Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti have been ruled out of action due to injury since the start of the campaign, it feels like Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin should be doing much better.

The senior duo have been the Toffees’ main options at number nine since last season, and while it’s evident that Dyche is trying to experiment and chop and change his team, there needs to be some sort of stability due to the difference in the way both number nines play.

If Everton wants to retain their Premier League status and avoid having to go down to the wire to confirm their safety, things are going to have to turn around soon otherwise it could end up being curtains for Dyche.
