Chelsea reportedly wish to keep their midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall amid rumors of a move in January. This is according to a report from TBR Football, who claim that the Blues want the 26-year-old to remain at Stamford Bridge despite his limited game time.

Dewsbury-Hall came to west London from Leicester in the summer of 2024 for a reported fee of €35.40 million. However, he has only seen 44 minutes of Premier League action since then.

Speaking about the difficulties that the midfielder is facing, Maresca said in October:

“I know Kiernan very well from last year. I completely understand how difficult it is for Kiernan at this moment. I know when you are the main player and then move to a big club it’s not easy because you’re not the main player, and you’re on the bench or not in the squad."

“Sometimes you struggle a bit at the beginning, but he has to understand the reason he is here is because we want him, so I was very happy for him.”

This situation with the player has led to multiple English top-flight teams expressing an interest in signing him in January. Brighton, Fulham, and Brentford are all said to be eyeing a move for Dewsbury-Hall in the upcoming transfer window.

Even with Chelsea's desire to keep the Englishman, it will be difficult for him to pip Cole Palmer to a spot in the attacking midfield area. He will have to compete with Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia for minutes in the deeper areas of midfield. Therefore, a transfer away may to another club might suit him.

Tijjani Reijnders

Chelsea are reportedly set to rival Real Madrid for the signing of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. However, a report from Calciomercato says that Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also among the sides chasing the Netherlands international's signature (via Chelsea News).

The 26-year-old's performances have seemingly impressed these teams, but he is set to be a tricky purchase, with Reijnders contracted in Milan till 2028. He largely operates as a central midfielder who is capable of performing slightly more attacking and defensive roles based on the requirements of the team.

It seems unlikely that Chelsea would wish to seal a deal for the midfielder, given the number of options they already possess in this area. To date, Reijnders has made 67 appearances across competitions for his Italian employers, bagging 10 goals and seven assists.
