Everton have been handed an injury blow as Michael Keane is set to miss up to 10 days, according to The Times.

The news outlet reported on 2 December that the centre-back missed the Toffees’ 4-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on 1 December after suffering a knock to his knee.

As such, the 31-year-old is not expected to feature for the Blues against Wolves at Goodison Park on 4 December.

With Keane out, the manager should maybe consider giving Jake O’Brien a run in the team, with the Irishman hardly playing this season.

The 23-year-old made his way to the Merseyside outfit in the summer from Olympique Lyon but has been afforded just 34 minutes in the Premier League.

Tarkowski was one of the worst players on the pitch in Manchester, and Dyche should look to drop the former Burnley defender to the bench in the upcoming match at home.

Everton are 15th in the league table as things stand, just two points ahead of Wolves, and the game at Goodison could be a vital three points for either team in the fight to avoid relegation.

Keane’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, and the defender is expected to leave the Merseysiders next summer.

Dyche has several calls to make for the lineup against Gary O’Neil’s men, and O’Brien could be in with a shout to replace Tarkowski.

Armando Broja could also make his first appearance for the Toffees, and the Albanian being given a start wouldn’t be surprising considering how poor Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto have been.

The Blues have a massive month ahead, but Keane’s absence shouldn’t have too much of a bearing on them.

In other Everton news, Dyche could be in trouble after a fantastic development at the Merseyside club.
