A Man City superstar has been moaning to teammates and staff about life at the club – including the quality of the hotels and food, sources have told Football Insider.

The player, who is one of the biggest names at City and has been starting regularly under Pep Guardiola, has privately been grumbling behind the scenes in recent weeks.

A well-placed source told Football Insider explained the senior player has not been shy about complaining about multiple issues to staff as well as fellow teammates

“He’s been moaning a lot – he’s not happy about the hotels, the food, anything. The way he’s going on, it’s like he doesn’t want to be here anymore,” the source explained.

City are renowned for their no-expenses spared culture, set up for the benefit of their star-studded squad’s match preparation and recovery.

The players stay in lavish hotels and fly private for away trips and have accommodation on-site at the club’s training ground for matches at the Etihad Stadium.

But the superstar is kicking up a fuss behind the scenes at City, at a time when they are winless in their last seven matches across all competitions.

The run started with the Premier League champions being dumped out of the League Cup against Tottenham in late October, losing 2-1 in London.

Guardiola’s side have since suffered four straight defeats in the Premier League and have also picked up just one point from Champions League games against Feyenoord and Sporting CP.

City are now fifth in the English top flight and are some 11 points adrift of Liverpool, who defeated them 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday (1 December).

They also have work to do to qualify automatically for the Champions League knockout stage, with a two-point deficit to make up on the top eight in the league phase.

Guardiola and City will attempt to stop the slide when they are next in action on Wednesday (4 December) against Nottingham Forest.
