Manchester City have another chance to end their winless streak ahead of them on Wednesday night.
Specifically, City will be taking on Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium for their latest Premier League outing.
The Manchester club’s previous league match saw them lose 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield, giving Pep Guardiola’s side their fourth consecutive league defeat.
As things stand, the champions find themselves in fifth place with 23 points on the board, 11 behind Arne Slot’s side at the top of the table.
Looking ahead to Wednesday’s midweek match against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who are currently just one point and one place below the Blues in the league table, a pundit has shared his prediction for how this clash could pan out.

Chris Sutton predicts score for Man City vs Nottingham Forest
In his latest column for BBC Sport where he previewed and predicted the results for all of the upcoming round of midweek Premier League fixtures, Chris Sutton said this about City’s match against Forest.
He said: “Manchester City’s form has to turn around at some point, but there is little sign of that happening at the moment.
“Nottingham Forest are going to be awkward opponents for them and, as the only team to have beaten Liverpool so far, they will fancy their chances at Etihad Stadium too.
“Nuno Espirito Santo’s side love defending and they will make it very hard for City to break them down.
“I did not mind seeing Pep Guardiola’s defiance at the end of City’s defeat at Anfield, when he raised six fingers at the Liverpool fans who were chanting ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ at him.
“Pep’s players will like it too, and they are still fighting, but how can I back them to get a positive result based on what we have seen in the past few weeks?
“City still have the talent but it has not been clicking and, physically, Forest will probably have the edge. The defending champions’ confidence is shot to pieces and teams must feel they can get at them.
“So, I think there will be goals and this could turn out to be a battle between two big number nines – ‘The Wood Chopper’’ Chris Wood for Forest and City’s Erling Haaland. I fancy both of them to score.”
Guardiola made his own City prediction after Liverpool defeat
After the Liverpool defeat, Guardiola predicted City’s upcoming results ahead of the Forest clash.
He said: “Call me delusional but I have the feeling that from here, we will start to build back to winning games and confidence.”
Given the poor run of form City have been on in recent weeks, a win against Forest is very much needed for the Manchester club.
Not only to keep them close to their title rivals but also to give the players and fans what could be a crucial confidence boost to help them kick on and get back to winning ways.
However, given how well Forest have performed this season to get them where they are in the table, this will undoubtedly be another tough test for the Citizens.
With Sutton now predicting that this match at the Etihad will end with a 2-2 draw, a win will still be the only thing on the City players’ and Guardiola’s minds heading into this fixture.
