Chelsea may be entering a mini purple patch of form with several of their players impressing in recent games.
Chelsea go into Wednesday’s Premier League match away to Southampton on a three-game winning streak across all competitions. Now, they’ll be expected to extend that run against the side sitting bottom of the league table.
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana is unavailable against Southampton because of an injury problem he picked up a couple of days ago in the 3-0 home win over Aston Villa.
Fortunately, Enzo Maresca, the Blues manager, has a deep squad of talented players to choose from each game.

Chris Sutton praises Nicolas Jackson
BBC pundit Chris Sutton has described Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson as a striker “on fire” recently.
“It won’t be a stroll for Enzo Maresca’s side [against Southampton] but they have so much quality in their team and they look so dangerous at the moment – up front, Nicolas Jackson is on fire,” Sutton told BBC Sport.
“Jackson’s improvement this campaign compared to last is making me think maybe I should have had a second season at Stamford Bridge. There are a lot of Chelsea fans who tell me that… but most of them are unhappy I even had one season there.”
Jackson, who’s scored eight goals in 13 Premier League games this season, is proving his credentials as the Blues’ first-choice striker.
