West Ham “are considering” replacing Julen Lopetegui with ex-Porto boss Sergio Conceicao, according to The Guardian.
The 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal at the weekend has placed more pressure on Lopetegui and the Hammers are believed to hold a “serious interest” in Conceicao, who is also open to the approach.
Despite winning three league titles with Porto, West Ham supporters on X are not particularly optimistic about the Portuguese coach’s potential appointment:
Somehow can't see it

How about we just consider Graham Potter. Forget his time at Chelsea, he’s not the only manager to have struggled under those owners. Think of what he did at Brighton who are still reaping success from the foundations he laid.

Every outlet is gonna link us with every man & his dog!!
Next 2 games are critical for Jules imo.
Terzic is the best man for the club, his time with Slav will put him in good steed & will know what we want imo…

Conceicao’s record at Porto
As well as winning Liga Portugal on three separate occasions (2018, 2020 and 2022), the 50-year-old also lifted the Portuguese Cup four times and the League Cup once.
Conceicao won three Portuguese Super Cups as well, which means he secured 11 trophies in total during his seven years with Porto, finishing with an impressive win ratio of 72.3%.
Who else will West Ham consider if they sack Lopetegui?
The Guardian report that former Juventus head coach Max Allegri has now also entered the running as a potential candidate, along with ex-Nice and Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier.
Graham Potter, Edin Terzic, Roger Schmidt, Sebastian Hoeness and Kasper Hjulmand are the other options that are said to be under consideration.
For now, Lopetegui retains the confidence of the board but that may change if they do suffer another poor result against relegation-threatened Leicester City on Tuesday evening.
