'I'd be shocked': Paul Merson predicts who will win when Arsenal face Manchester United tomorrow

Arsenal and Manchester United prepare to lock horns at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow in what promises to be an entertaining game of football.

The Gunners are nine points behind league leaders Liverpool but have found their feet in recent weeks after an underwhelming run across all competitions.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, are showing signs of life under Ruben Amorim, who has breathed new life into the club after replacing Erik ten Hag at the helm.

Both teams have fared quite well in recent weeks, but Paul Merson expects a one-sided game in North London tomorrow.

Manchester United have won two out of three under Amorim and are coming on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of Leicester City.

Arsenal, meanwhile, brushed West Ham United aside 5-2 in a London derby that saw seven goals scored in the first half.

Merson feels his former team will be too hot to handle for Amorim and Co as he predicted a 3-0 home win.

“I don’t see anything but an Arsenal win here, it will be comfortable and easy,” wrote Merson in his column for Sportskeeda.

“I’d even go three or four nil to Arsenal in this one, they will destroy Manchester United! We shouldn’t get carried away by that Manchester United win against Everton.

“I watched them against Bodo/Glimt and they weren’t great. Ipswich were also by far the better team when they met during Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge.

“Considering how well Arsenal are playing now, I’d be shocked if they don’t win three or four nil at the Emirates.”

Liverpool boss Arne Slot feels Arsenal could win every game between now and the end of the season as he hailed the Gunners as contenders for the title.

Two sides to meet in the FA Cup

Manchester United are the current holders of the FA Cup, having won the trophy under Ten Hag last season under arch-rivals Manchester City.

They have a massive battle in their hands to retain the trophy, though, as they face Arsenal away from home in the third round of the FA Cup.

Amorim faces the toughest test of his Manchester United tenure so far but a win against Arsenal will be a clear sign that he’s the right man for the job at Old Trafford.
