Xavi Simons enjoyed a stunning season in 2023/24 on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG, following which he was touted for a big move this past summer while the French champions also wanted to keep hold of him.
In the end though Luis Enrique could not guarantee the Dutch sensation a starting spot, which led to him returning to Leipzig on another loan deal.
Come summer of 2025, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder is likely to be a subject of interest in the transfer market once again and The Athletic has come forward with an extensive report on what the future could hold for Simons.
Real Madrid and Barcelona among most probable destinations
As per the report, La Liga behemoths Real Madrid and Barcelona are both among the most probable destinations for Xavi Simons for the summer of 2025.
Along with them, the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool are also seen as likely options for the 21-year-old Netherlands international while Manchester United have also shown an interest.

RB Leipzig, too, remain keen on making the youngster’s transfer to the club permanent but the financial aspect makes things difficult for them.
There has not been concrete interest from Real Madrid in Simons, but the Merengues are always alert to top young players across the globe and the Dutch sensation, who had previously rejected the club, fits the profile.
However, it must be noted that another Bundesliga star, Florian Wirtz, is a bigger priority for Real Madrid.
Simons has been sidelined for over a month now due to an ankle injury. Prior to that, he made 11 appearances for RB Leipzig this season, scoring three and assisting two goals.
The former Barcelona academy man is expected to return from the injury in January and if nothing goes wrong between then and the end of the season, he could command a transfer fee of around €80 million at least.
It is not entirely ruled out that PSG retain his services, but the Parisian giants see him as golden opportunity either way – they hold on to a top prospect or sell him for a huge profit.
