Liverpool are running out of time to take full control of contract talks with three of their star players.
The Reds have been sensational so far this season, but the campaign has been a touch overshadowed by complications regarding contract negotiations.
With December now in full swing, Liverpool are less than a month away from allowing Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold the freedom to talk to any club in the world about a move.
In reality, those discussions have likely already started. Each player will be ensuring himself of his own options should the Liverpool owners fail to get things over the line.
In terms of Salah, there have been rumblings this week that the Egyptian has been holding conversations with PSG over a potential switch to France.
And according to French journalist Julien Laurens, there has been a clear takeaway from those talks.

Liverpool still Mohamed Salah’s priority
Reports this week have suggested that Salah is growing frustrated with Liverpool as they wait to show their hand in discussions.
With the 32-year-old in sparkling form on the pitch, the clamour is growing for the Reds to make a tangible offer to their star forward.

Luckily for Liverpool, it still very much seems like Salah would prefer to remain at Anfield. And while speaking to TalkSPORT on Tuesday, Laurens says Mo’s preference to stay where he has seemingly been made clear to PSG.
“I think there have been discussions between Nasser Al Khelaifi and Ramy Abbas, they’ve known each other for a very long time and I think PSG have been a long-term admirer of Mo Salah since the Qatari’s took over the club,” he says.

“It’s normal that other clubs are interested and see what’s going on but PSG also know that the priority is to stay at Liverpool for Mo and I think that’s fine with them.
“It’s just in case he decides not to stay or there’s no offer from Liverpool, then they will be in a good position.”
Liverpool running out of excuses
There is now real pressure on Liverpool to make sure this is a deal that gets done with Salah.
Although there are arguments that can be made against offering him a new long-term deal, there is surely no excuse for giving the No.11 another year at the very, very least.
According to The Athletic on Monday, Salah would even accept a one-year deal for the time being.
Given his form this season and his status as one of the biggest Liverpool legends of the modern era, there is little reason that makes sense for the Reds not do that.
However, nerves rightly still remain amongst the fanbase that Salah is now right at the end of his Liverpool career. If that is the case, PSG seems like a plausible next stop for Mo.
