Everton make offer to manager with 11 trophies but what he's told them will delight West Ham

Ambitious Everton have made an official offer to Sergio Conceicao but what he’s told them will delight West Ham.

West Ham will reportedly sack Julen Lopetegui if he does not get wins against Leicester and Wolves.

But he’s not the only Premier League boss in imminent danger.

Speculation has swirled around Sean Dyche at Everton for most of the season.

West Ham’s owners have told Lopetegui the next two games are “massive”.

Meanwhile reports abound that Everton prospective new owners are planning to replace Dyche.

Lopetegui bought himself some time when the Hammers went to Newcastle and won 2-0 last Monday night.

After the game the likes of Jamie Carragher warned the Hammers to beware a false dawn.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

He was proved right when West Ham were a shambles again in a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal.

The next day Everton were battered 4-0 by Man United.

The results have piled pressure on Lopetegui and Dyche.

It was claimed last week Everton were looking to try and beat West Ham to two managerial targets after making Edin Terzic and Sergio Conceicao their prime targets.

The prospective new Everton owners, headed up by Dan Friedkin, have been ready to take advantage of West Ham dithering over Lopetegui.

Ambitious Everton approach Hammers target Conceicao

Friedkin’s American consortium has agreed to buy Farhad Moshiri’s majority 94 per cent stake in Everton.

Now ambitious Everton have made an offer to Conceicao but what he’s told them will delight West Ham.

There was a West Ham frenzy overnight after a reporter close to the club’s owners confirmed Sullivan does want Conceicao as the replacement for Lopetegui.

Better still Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg claimed Conceicao wants the job.

West Ham seem to have sparked Everton into life with reports in France claiming they have now made an official approach to Conceicao.

The cigar-smoking 50-year-old Portuguese is a free agent having left Porto in the summer.

Conceicao won 11 trophies in seven seasons with the club.

The prospect of appointing the manager dubbed the ‘new Mourinho’ has excited West Ham and Everton fans.

French outlet L’Equipe has been reporting on Conceicao’s future as Nantes are also said to be interested.

Now they have claimed that they have been pushed to the back of the queue by interest from the Premier League.

What Conceicao told Everton will delight West Ham

The report says Everton and West Ham have made contact about hiring him.

But when Everton approached Conceicao he told them the Hammers are his preference.

The report says competition has been hotting up for Conceicao’s signature from much wealthier clubs than Nantes.

Those clubs being Everton and West Ham United.

Interest from both has been confirmed.

But it is “West Ham that is favoured by the man in question”.

Get French Football News is also reporting that Conceicao has made it clear he wants the Hammers over the Toffees.

Everton’s interest has backed Sullivan into a corner.

The Hammers chief must now decide whether to stick or twist over Lopetegui. If he sticks he risks missing out on the charismatic and proven winner Conceicao.

It’s a huge call because West Ham clearly have the edge over Everton given Conceicao’s stated preference.

The revelation may mean the Hammers board will wield the axe if West Ham don’t beat Leicester.

Because Everton are not in action until Wednesday night – so it gives the east Londoners a 24-hour jump on the Toffees.

Things just got interesting.
