The Red Devils will be without a key player.

Ruben Amorim will be without a key player for United’s match against Arsenal on Wednesday evening.

Amorim, 39, will be looking to secure his third win in four games since becoming head coach of the Red Devils when United face Arsenal at the Emirates tomorrow evening.

The likes of Amad, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee impressed during his side’s 4-0 trouncing of Everton on Sunday which added to the increasingly positive mood around Old Trafford.

But the United boss has been dealt a hammer blow with reports suggesting a senior player will miss the trip to North London.

According to talkSPORT, United left-back Luke Shaw has not travelled to London with the rest of his teammates due to an “unspecified problem”.

He will be assessed but Leny Yoro is part of the travelling party.

Shaw, 29, has hardly featured since Euro 2024 having sustained a calf injury before the Premier League opening game week in August.

Since then, the defender has played just three times - most recently as a second half substitute during Sunday's win.

Fans on social media were quick to give their thoughts on yet another set-back for Shaw with many showing support.

One said: "Luke Shaw being injured again is not about us or our disappointment anymore. It's about him. He is the victim here. We must support him as a human being"

Another added: "Everyone has a tendency to dive on Luke Shaw and abuse him as if he's making the decisions for his body to effectively give up on him.

"End of the day this is a bloke who's having his dream taken away from his due to injuries."

A third commented: "All the best Luke Shaw, may you eventually find that breaking point in this crisis where you eventually get to enjoy the rest of your career as a footballer."

While a fifth explained: "Players don't determine whether they want to be injured or not, it just happens. It just happens to them."

As a result of the news, Amorim may be forced to start Lisandro Martinez as the left centre-back of a defensive three with Diogo Dalot (usually a right-back) as the left wing-back having started in the position against Everton and Ipswich.
