BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has admitted that he can “understand the excitement” about Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim ahead of the Arsenal clash.
Ruben Amorim officially succeeded former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after he left Sporting CP and arrived at Old Trafford in November.
Erik ten Hag was dismissed near the end of October after a poor start to the 2024-25 season and Ruud van Nistelrooy was installed as United interim manager.
Amorim took charge of the Red Devils during the start of the November international break and the 39-year-old Portuguese manager has impressed at United so far.
The former Sporting CP boss kicked off his United reign with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town away from home before beating Bodo/Glimt 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Amorim oversaw his most convincing win to date as United manager on Sunday after the Red Devils thumped Everton 4-0 in the Premier League at home.

United manager Ruben Amorim will face his toughest test to date at the Red Devils when his side travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
Speaking in his BBC Sport column, Chris Sutton insisted that he was “pleased” to see that Amorim has made a “decent start” to his run at Old Trafford.
“I can understand the excitement about Ruben Amorim from Manchester United fans because he is a hugely charismatic guy who comes across so well in interviews,” he said.
“I am pleased for him that he has got off to a decent start, because he is unbeaten after his first three games, but this is the real acid test that will demonstrate where United are at.”

Sutton makes Arsenal vs Man Utd prediction
Arsenal are challenging for the Premier League title and the second-place Gunners are nine points adrift from league leaders Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta’s men thumped West Ham 5-2 away from home on Saturday ahead of hosting United at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.
Sutton has backed Arsenal to beat United 3-1 and the BBC Sport pundit said it would be a “real eye-opener” if Amorim’s men secured any points from the match.
“We have seen some classic games between these teams down the years, but Arsenal are a long way ahead of United, especially now [Martin] Odegaard is back – he has taken them to the levels we were expecting from them all season,” he added.
“It would be a real eye-opener if United go to Emirates Stadium and get something, but I can’t see it.
“Arsenal have scored a lot of goals in the past week and that should continue here. They will win, and win well.”
