Unai Emery confirmed Amadou Onana will not feature against Brentford as he continues to nurse a foot injury, while Jacob Ramsey is expected to miss at least another two weeks of action.
Ramsey suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat at Liverpool before the November international break just over three weeks ago. The 23-year-old could return to fitness in time to face Manchester City on December 21, but when he is able to come back depends on his recovery.
Onana, meanwhile, had an outside chance of making the matchday squad to face Chelsea last Sunday, but was not included.

Villa could also be without goalkeeper Emi Martinez against Brentford after he suffered a hairline fracture to his finger in the defeat at Stamford Bridge. The expectation is that Martinez will be able to make the game on the weekend against Southampton in case he is unable to play against the Bees.
“We are going to train this afternoon and I don’t know how he’s going to feel,” said the Villa manager. “It depends on the training today. He could be for tomorrow or not. I don’t know now.”
Villa are winless in their last eight matches in all competitions and are targeting their first win in over six weeks on Wednesday. Brentford have the joint-worst away record this term after only taking one point from the six games they’ve played on the road.
Emery’s side are unbeaten against Brentford in their last four matches against them, while Wednesday's visitors have never won at Villa Park.
