Everton have reignited their interest in Fleetwood Town goalkeeper David Harrington, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist reported [3 December] that the Toffees have continued to monitor the 24-year-old since his move to League Two, having tried to sign him from Cork City before the transfer.
Called up by Craig Bellamy for Wales’ Nations League fixtures against Turkey and Iceland in November, the “highly-rated” shot-stopper, Harrington continues to impress with the Toffees interested.
Everton to sign new Jordan Pickford as David Harrington update emerges?
The League Two shot-stopper has experienced a successful season with the Fishermen, having kept seven clean sheets in his first 15 league appearances.
With his only other appearance this season coming in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Reading, the league campaign will be Harrington’s main focus, with his side sitting in 12th, four points off the play-offs.

However, further interest from the Toffees may have come at a bad time for the 24-year-old because he may not be able to pass up switching from League Two to the Premier League.
While Jordan Pickford is the club’s number-one choice, and likely will be for the next few years, Sean Dyche struggles with replacement options when feeling the need to rotate ‘keepers.
Learning from England’s No.1 would also be an incredible opportunity for the player who has only just been called up to Wales’ first-team squad but was unable to make the matchday squad.

Bellamy has limited goalkeeper options at international level, hence his call-up to the team last month, and his involvement with Wales could boost his development exponentially.
The Toffees will need a new goalkeeper at some point, with Pickford now 30 years of age, and bedding a young star into the squad now could be a sensible idea at Goodison Park.
