Nuno Espirito Santo addresses Man City’s form ahead of Forest clash

When questioned about City’s run of form heading into Wednesday’s fixture against his side, Nuno Espirito Santo gave this honest assessment in his latest press conference.

He said: “That doesn’t take away the quality and the talent that they have. Let’s not forget they’re champions and the team that won so many with so much quality players, such good managers. It’s going to be very tough.”

Espirito Santo then added this when asked if he thinks City have it in them to turn their form around.

He said: “When you have such quality players and you play such good football, for sure.”

Finally, the Forest boss gave this honest verdict on whether he has concerns about City’s dip in form making them more dangerous for Wednesday’s game.

He said: “We are aware. We are aware how tough it’s going to be. I always say so, all the games are very tough.

“Playing against Man City, the situation isn’t really what we look at. We look at the quality, we look at the things we have to do and we have to do so many things right to achieve a good performance and a good result there. And that is our ambition.”

Jamie Carragher reckons City are in a ‘mini-crisis’

After seeing the reigning champions lose to Liverpool, Jamie Carragher claimed City are out of the title race, despite not being halfway through the season yet, giving this explanation on the matter.

He said: “I think it’s almost a mini-crisis for Manchester City. I think it’s reminiscent of Liverpool two years ago. I actually think Man City might have a fight on their hands for the top four.

“I actually look at Arsenal and Chelsea and the way they’re looking now and I think it will be difficult to finish above them if they don’t go into the market in January.”

Despite that, Arne Slot still named City as one of the title contenders for this campaign, regardless of the 11-point gap between the two clubs.

Now that Espirito Santo has acknowledged City’s poor run of results but admits Wednesday’s clash will still be a tough game for his side, the Blues will have to make sure it’s as tough for Forest as possible and ultimately walk away with three points.
