Sky Sports has promptly removed a video segment from their social media account after pundit Jamie Carragher accused the broadcaster of misrepresenting his comments about Liverpool's triumph against Manchester City.
Following the Merseyside club's win, capped by goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, Carragher had noted on Super Sunday that City might struggle to secure top-four this season. "This season, Manchester City will not be winning the Premier League," he remarked.
"I don't think there is any way back." Carragher likened City’s situation to "a mini-crisis" akin to what Liverpool experienced two seasons prior, expressing beliefs that City could end up battling for a top-four spot.

Nevertheless, controversy was sparked when Rob Wotton on Monday's Football Show seemed to suggest Carragher doubted City would finish in the Champions League spots at all, which led Carragher to respond sharply on X. Correcting the record, he wrote: "I said I fancied Arsenal and Chelsea to finish above City!
"They may have a fight on their hands for fourth but I'm confident they'll get it. Not like the presenter to twist my words!!!"
The offending post from the show on Sky Sports News has since been taken down by the broadcaster. It is likely this was done promptly to prevent any additional backlash from Carragher or his fans.
Despite this minor disagreement, it is anticipated that Carragher will be back on Sky Sports this weekend as Premier League action resumes after a series of midweek games on Amazon Prime. Now seven games without a win, City will look to return to form on Wednesday night when they host Nottingham Forest.
