The Gunners seemed to have found their scoring boots once again scoring 13 goals in the last 3 matches. Following an early November that was mostly dismal, it’s good to see the squad rebounding with a lot of vim and vigor. Gooner Nation never lost faith, but there were some concerns during the November slump.
Next up, Manchester United on Wednesday in Emirates Stadium. The Red Devils are fresh off the team’s first win for new manager Ruben Amorim. Man United are currently 9th on the Premier League table, trailing leaders Liverpool by 15 points and the Gunners by 6 points. A win on Wednesday would see United slide up the table a few places, while an Arsenal win would close the gap with Liverpool to 6 points if the Reds lose to Newcastle United playing on Wednesday as well. Also, if you look at the current table there is only a 10 point gap between 2nd place and 14th place. Things are heating up!
So, the good news is Arsenal is playing well. The bad news is that the injuries are piling up once again. Gabriel Magalhaes, Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino and Myles Lewis-Skelly are the newest additions to that list. This morning Arteta played his cards very close to the vest when discussing injuries during his Man United pre-match press conference.
With that said, here’s my predicted line-up on Wednesday…
[4-3-3]
Martinelli, Havertz, Saka
Rice, Odegaard, Jorginho
Zinchenko, Kiwior, Saliba, Timber
Raya
Predicted final score: ARSENAL 3 – Manchester United 2
