West Ham United fans were fully justified in targeting Julen Lopetegui with chants of “sacked in the morning” after the 3-1 defeat against Leicester City.
Things just don’t look like they are going to turn around for the Spaniard at the London Stadium based on the defeat at the King Power on Tuesday (3 December).
The Hammers conceded three times before Niclas Fullkrug netted a late consolation goal, despite having the better of the chances throughout the clash.
In response to the frustrating result, the away supporters chanted: “You’re getting sacked in the morning” towards Lopetegui as the pressure continues to build, as shared by COYIrons on X [3 December].

It is safe to say that many supporters in East London have reached the end of their tether with the ex-Real Madrid boss as head coach.

There was actually plenty to be positive about against Leicester, with plenty of chances created on the night which could have resulted in more goals on another day.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side just took their chances, whereas the away side didn’t, which ultimately decided the result in the end.
As the Foxes got further ahead, the Irons’ defensive shape got worse which just left them susceptible to the counter-attack as the game went on.
This is where Lopetegui has questions to answer as it is ultimately his call on how is side is set up, with the tactical approach leaving his side open to conceding at times.
As a result, it could be the end of the road for the Spaniard and his job prospects certainly won’t have been helped by chants from the away end.
Typically when you lose the away followers, that is how you know your race is run and that may prove to be the case for Lopetegui.
