Amad responded magnanimously after Noussair Mazraoui won the fan vote to decide Manchester United's Player of the Month for November.

Mazraoui was named the winner on Tuesday after the club ran an online poll for four days on its website. The summer signing received over half of the vote (55%), with Amad getting just under a quarter (23%) and Andre Onana a bit more than a fifth (21%).

Either of the other two players would have made them the first to win multiple awards this season after Amad previously triumphed in August, with Onana taking September's prize. Mazraoui, meanwhile, had yet to be nominated before last month but was impressed first under Ruud van Nistelrooy and now for Ruben Amorim.

Soon after the club named 'Nous' as November's star man, Amad shared their Instagram post announcing it on his story alongside a gif of Mazraoui dancing during the player's days as an Ajax player. Fernandes also posted United's announcement on his story, tagging his teammate and adding a love heart eyes emoji.

Both players liked the post, too, as did Christian Eriksen, Ethan Wheatley, and Onana. Amorim has not responded directly but praised the player during his latest press conference on Monday at Old Trafford.

United's head coach called Mazraoui a "top player" before adding: "He understands the game. He knows how to attack, he's very technical, he's very good defensively, and he's very good one-on-one.

"He's a modern player. I think he's the future of our team.

"When you think about him, you think, 'we need more players like Nous that can control the tempo'; they are really, really good and comfortable with the ball. They understand the game, so Nous, I'm really happy with him."
