Chelsea are absolutely flying in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca and the temptation to recruit in January may be strong. The Blues currently sit third in the table, amazingly behind Arsenal on away goals scored in the head-to-head clash between the two London clubs.
With two different starting XI's deployed in the two different competitions Chelsea are in, squad depth is not an obvious issue. Despite that, possible incomings will have likely been discussed by Maresca with Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
A number of stars for the future are already set to arrive next summer and thus making any more marquee signings is perhaps not the immediate priority. The future of some unsettled stars is however very much in the headlines, with Christopher Nkunku and now Mykhailo Mudryk linked to an exit.
The latter has not been concretely linked to a particular club but a huge update on his future looks to have emerged. With that being said, football.london has rounded up some of the big Chelsea transfer headlines before January.
Mudryk transfer stance
Chelsea continue to fully back Mykhailo Mudryk and are not exploring any kind of January exit, permanent or temporary, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. Despite struggles for consistent form since arriving at Stamford Bridge, the Ukraine international is enjoying a good spell.
Though appearances in Premier League action remain scarce, Mudryk has been shining in the Conference League with six goal contributions to his name from just four appearances. In the most recent clash against Heidenheim, Mudryk netted a thunderbolt to help seal a European triumph.
football.london says: "Given Mudryk finally looks to be nearing the levels expected of him, it is no surprise that Chelsea have absolutely no intention of letting him go.
"Serious competition for places is preventing him from making an impact in the Premier League, but with that being said, he will likely be content with his minutes and impact in the Conference League. However, if he continues thriving in that competition, he could soon be knocking on Maresca's door for more opportunities elsewhere.
"For the time being, though, the 23-year-old will likely keep his head down and focus on the present."
Maresca on Boehly chat
Enzo Maresca has revealed what was discussed when he last spoke to the Chelsea owners. "After the last game. After Aston Villa, yeah," he said in a press conference. "It's a normal conversation that we have after every game... 'How was the game? What's your feeling? What works well? What doesn't work?' And it's just about this."
"This is a question for them. I hope so, and they showed me they are happy and they are okay, but it is more of a question for them." Given the Blues' recent run of results, it is very likely Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will be happy with his start in west London.
football.london says: "It is certainly not a shock to learn that Maresca is in regular contact with the Chelsea co-owners. With the January transfer window also on the horizon, that will likely form the bulk of their current conversation topics alongside performances on the pitch.
"Perhaps believing they have struck gold with Maresca, the Blues chiefs could look to further improve the quality in his squad. However, if nothing worthwhile can be completed in the winter trading period, plans for next summer will certainly be on the agenda if they have not already been discussed."
