Everton vs Wolves prediction and odds as both sides look to avoid relegation fight

Everton manager Sean Dyche gestures on the touchline

Everton and Wolves are both eager to recover from significant weekend losses as they face off at Goodison Park on Wednesday night. Both sets of fans will be feeling underwhelmed a third of the way through the season especially Wolves who displayed so much promise under Gary O'Neil last season too.

Sean Dyche's Everton were soundly beaten 4-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday in a match which saw two of my three tips come in. This defeat extended their winless streak in the Premier League to five matches, leaving them teetering just above the relegation zone.

Desperate for some breathing room, the Toffees are keen to outplay fellow relegation contenders Wolves in this midweek showdown. They are only two points above their opponents as both sides look to get themselves out of the relegation conversation as they approach the festive period.

Meanwhile, Wolves' recent resurgence was abruptly halted with a 4-2 loss against Bournemouth at Molineux on Saturday. As a result, O’Neil’s squad has slipped back into the bottom three. However, a victory against Everton could see them leapfrog their opponents and climb to 15th place in the table.
