Rangers already know that there are bargains to be had in and around the fringes of the Premier League.
Calvin Bassey remains the club’s record sale, Abdallah Sima was a success on loan and Jack Butland is proving to be a solid acquisition and an integral member of the squad on a free transfer too.
Amad Diallo maybe didn’t hit the heights at Ibrox that he is now hitting at Old Trafford, however, if Rangers have the chance to sign Carney Chukwuemeka, then it should be taken.

Enzo Maresca wanted Carney Chukwuemeka to leave Chelsea
The Chelsea youngster could follow in the footsteps of another successful Premier League acquisition in Dujon Sterling, who arrived with a glowing reputation from Stamford Bridge.
The difference between the two players though, is that Chelsea don’t want to keep Chukwuemeka.
Summer interest from Barcelona and AC Milan never amounted to anything, with Enzo Maresca openly admitting that he wanted to move the midfielder on:
“I will say exactly the same thing I have said many times: Carney is a very good player, but for the amount of players we have, we decided at the beginning of the season it is probably better to leave and go somewhere, prove himself and playing 30 or 35 games than being here and play less games,” revealed Maresca in September.
“Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. He is our player. He had some minutes the other day, today he was not involved. Hopefully, we can give him more minutes.”

How Rangers could do Chelsea a favour
Chelsea’s inflated squad is well known, and it is a situation that Rangers should take advantage of.
Just because a player isn’t good enough for them, doesn’t mean that they couldn’t become a key player for Rangers.
Cole Palmer is a great example, Chelsea have benefited from Man City putting all their eggs in Phil Foden’s basket when it is looking increasingly likely that the former is a better player.
As a similar type of player capable of playing in midfield or slightly further forward, Chukwuemeka is exactly what Rangers have missed at times under Clement.
