Everton and The Friedkin Group are unlikely to see their takeover affected by new developments at 777 Partners and A-CAP, Matt Slater has said.

The US-based consortium were unable to secure a deal for the Toffees earlier this year and then collapsed after it had loaned the club approximately £200million. [BBC]

Now, the Utah insurance regulator (4 December) has forbidden 777’s partner A-Cap from doing new business in the state and other states may follow, as Slater shared an update on the takeover process.

He wrote on X: “For those following 777’s crash, the Utah insurance regulator has stopped its partner/lender A-Cap from doing new business in the state.

“Other states may follow. Unlikely to impact the Everton takeover, apart from making A-Cap less willing to accept a discount payment from TFG.”

Everton need takeover completed ASAP

The potential Everton takeover has been rumbling on for a long time with the club in need of stability.

Supporters will be glad that 777 failed in their attempts to purchase the club as quite clearly, that would have been a disaster.

The Friedkin Group should represent a new era for the Merseyside club and when looking at Roma, who they took over in 2020, fans will hope for a similar path of development.

On the pitch right now, Sean Dyche’s side are struggling with intense pressure on the former Burnley boss with his side winning just two of their opening 13 Premier League matches.

The Friedkin Group will have to make a decision on the manager when they are in charge but they may be in the midst of a brutal relegation battle by then.

It is imperative for the Blues’ survival that the takeover is completed as soon as possible.

In other Everton news, a relegation prediction has been made by SuperComputer after the loss against Manchester United.
