Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists there is no truth to the rumours that they have made contact with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah over a pre-contract agreement.
The Egypt international is facing an uncertain future at Anfield as he enters the final seven months of his current deal, having revealed last week that the Reds have yet to offer him a new contract.
Salah fuelled speculation on Sunday after claiming he had faced Manchester City for the last time on Merseyside, where he scored and assisted a goal for the 36th time in the Premier League to equal a record held by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.
The 32-year-old winger is free to speak with clubs outside England in January and reports emerged earlier this week that PSG have made an approach to acquire his prized signature.
However, Al-Khelaifi has distanced his club from the gossip, claiming that Salah was never on their radar despite breaking all sorts of records in the most competitive league in the world.
“It’s not true. He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered him, to be honest,” the Qatari businessman told Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
“We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true.”
