Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has shared his prediction for Everton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves travel northwest to take on Everton tonight in what could prove to be a pivotal clash in the Premier League relegation scrap.

It’s still early on in the season but the Old Gold and the Toffees have emerged as bottom three contenders following difficult starts. Gary O’Neil and Sean Dyche have sourced just four wins between them after 13 matches apiece, with Wolves 18th in the standings and Everton in 17th.

Redknapp, who managed a whopping 641 English top-flight games throughout his managerial career, is concerned for Everton but believes Wolves have the necessary quality to survive. The 77-year-old in turn reckons Wanderers will run out victors at Goodison Park.

“It’s worrying times again at Everton, they were just a shambles against Manchester United,” Redknapp said. “They really shot themselves in the foot a couple of times and gifted some of those goals. They’ve got a little bit of breathing room over the bottom three, but they just don’t score many.

“Wolves-Bournemouth was a crazy game! Wolves were on a good run; I was surprised they looked so shaky at home. Wolves went to Fulham and cruised to the win, they’ll fancy going here and getting something. I just think Wolves have more attacking quality and threat and will edge this 0-1,” Redknapp added.

Not just a victory but a clean sheet for the Old Gold in store according to Redknapp, then. That would certainly relieve some pressure from O’Neil’s shoulders but Wolves fans shouldn’t count their chickens just yet as a trip to Goodison is always tough, especially under the lights.

It’s a good time to face Everton in fairness, though, as Dyche’s side have failed to score in any of their previous four outings. They’ve also picked up just three points out of the last 15 available, far worse than the Old Gold’s total of eight in that period.
